Strong and spotless.

Tajuan Agee powered his squad with a sterling output as Strong Group Athletics-Philippines handed their foes a 107-75 demolition, staying perfect in the 44th William Jones Cup at the Xinzhuang Gymnasium in New Taipei City on Thursday night, July 17.

Agee flashed all-around brilliance with a smooth 25-point performance on a near-spotless 10-of-12 shooting spree while grabbing six boards, dishing out three dimes, two steals, and a block in under 16 minutes of action.

SGA head coach Charles Tiu lauded both Agee and the team’s effort.

“Played great today. Guys were locked in from the start,” said Tiu.

“Tajuan Agee was great and dominated them from the start. Best offensive basketball for us.”

Coming from a dormant performance in their last game against Australia, the early surge of Agee was the key in setting the tone early for the Philippines, eventually torching the host squad.

While the hosts had a mini-run during the waning moments of the opening frame, SGA extinguished the fire by starting stronger in the second frame via their paint presence and fastbreaks that blew up to a 58-30 lead courtesy of a 22-9 run to end the half.

SGA also found its rhythm from beyond the arc, drilling 14-of-31 three-pointers for an impressive 45.2% shooting clip — a consistent trend in their previous matches.

With their starters resting on the bench in the second half, Tiu gave his bench meaningful minutes to continue the game.

Reigning BCAL-East MVP Ian Miller added 13 points while Javi Gomez de LiaƱo tallied a double-double output of 12 points and 11 boards.
Kiefer Ravena also established his leadership while registering with 11 points and six assists.

Now 5–0, SGA-Philippines will next face Malaysia on July 18 (Philippine time) before taking on undefeated Bahrain (6–0) on July 19.
